Tinga Tinga

The Tinga Tinga style of painting is said to have originated in Tanzania. We visited an artist's home where he had about 4 or 5 dozen paintings laid out on the ground. I alternated between feeling charmed by the style, confused by the display, and lost in an internal discussion with Self about whether this could be called art or not.

My brain goes into overload when I see a large number of repetitive or mostly repetitive offerings. My co-travelers, perhaps because they were non-artists and better funded, bought and bought.
