Need Inspiration?
I like what Robert Genn says about this subject, because...I suppose....it's so much like I work.
I just "do it" and I never know what my art will be about.
Both amateurs and professionals need to try for excellence. And when amateurs try to put on the feathers of the pro, they become better artists and this gives them more joy. And as for inspiration, don't kid yourself, pros need to look for and find it every day. But they do, as you suggest, have a little secret: Inspiration comes by "doing it."
Small work clears the mind of impedimenta and complexity--and sets higher ambition in motion.
