Day of the Dead Shrine

Joggles.com announced the fall classes today, and now I can post my photos. As I usually work
according to "how the spirit moves me", I had to really stretch myself on this one. Not only is it
incredibly difficult to think of a festival which takes place the first few days of November during 100 degree days here in Austin, but I had little in the way of supplies other than 4 skull beads. Oh, by the way, Dias de las Muertos is
a happy celebration during which the departed are invited back for a visit.

I will be teaching this shrine made from a cigar box, but also the building of a second one. I sure do enjoy assemblage, and in particular, working with exaggerated plastic doll figures. I am enjoying cutting them up so much that I am
beginning to scare myself!
